Spaghetti squash bowls are a delicious and nutritious alternative to traditional pasta dishes. They offer a light and slightly sweet flavor that pairs perfectly with a variety of toppings, so you can mix and match to make it just to your liking! One of the best things about spaghetti squash bowls is how easy and affordable they are to make. Each serving cost only $3 to make! It's a simple and satisfying meal that won't break the bank. What's even better: you can serve the dish directly in the squash, and save time on doing dishes, too!
To make a spaghetti squash bowl, start by preheating your oven to 400°F (200°C). Cut the spaghetti squash in half and scoop out the seeds and pulp with a spoon. Drizzle the inside of each half with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
Place the squash halves cut side down on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in the preheated oven for about 40-50 minutes, or until the squash is tender and the strands can easily be scraped out with a fork.
Once the squash is cooked, use a fork to scrape the flesh into spaghetti-like strands. You can then fill the squash bowls with your favorite toppings such as marinara sauce, sautéed vegetables, cooked protein like chicken or tofu, and a sprinkle of cheese.
Return the filled squash bowls to the oven for a few more minutes to heat everything through and melt the cheese. Serve hot and enjoy your delicious spaghetti squash bowl!
